Hello everyone!! Wouldn’t you agree if I say that gift wrapping is the most exciting part of giving and receiving gifts? You can always make a gift appear to be really fancy and expensive by putting some thought into the gift wrapping. So, today I am going to share the steps for a gift box that I made recently. It’s easy to make and a great way to package small gifts such as chocolates, jewelry pieces, etc.
Supplies: Paper, Scissors, Ribbons, Glue and other accessories to decorate [Note: You can buy all the supplies in the form of an assembled kit from my FB shop here]
I have made a box with a square base of sides 10 cm and height of 2.5 cm. You can choose any dimensions that you require. For my box, I have taken a square sheet of paper of size 15cmX15cm (10+2.5X2) for the base.
On the square sheet of paper, make a 10 cm square on the center leaving 2.5 cm borders on all sides. Your sheet should look like this.
Now, use scissors to cut the smaller squares formed in the corners diagonally. You need to cut across the diagonals of all the four corners.
Now, score the sheet along the lines and fold it inwards.
Next paste the edges of the box with glue, keeping one diagonal flap inside and one on the outside. Let it dry for 5 minutes. Do this for all the corners.
For the top cover of the box, you need to make a similar box, but with extra space so that it fits the base of the box perfectly. I have used a square sheet of paper with sides of 15.3 cm for the same. Make a similar square in the center, leaving 2.5 cm border on all the sides.
Repeat all the steps for making the top as well.
Now that the top is ready, you can decorate it with ribbons. I have used a paper ribbon that I pasted across the bottom of the top cover. Then, I stuck a ribbon bow made of organza ribbons with fabric glue.
Just place your gift inside this gorgeous gift box and spread the joy. Share your experiences in the comments below. Happy Creating!!
